The Brown County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following calls on Friday and Saturday.
- On Friday, July 8 at approximately 1:35 p.m. Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to a vehicle on fire on FM 2632. As the fire department was putting out the fire, 5 street signs were found in the trunk of the car. The suspect/driver of the car admitted to taking the signs a couple of days prior.
- On Saturday, July 9 at about 2:03 p.m., Deputy Byron Langley arrived at the Dollar General, located at US 183 in May. This was in regard to an attempted forgery. Langley spoke to the store manager, who stated a suspect had attempted to pass a $50 bill to pay for her items.
- On Saturday, July 9, Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a call in Blanket. This was in reference to trespassing. The caller requested a Criminal Trespass Warning be issued to his daughters’ ex-boyfriend. A report was made.
