In a recent meeting, Brownwood City Council heard citizen concerns over truck traffic through residential areas of south Brownwood, namely 14th Street.
When the Brownwood City Council meets on Tuesday morning, July 12th, at 9:00 am, they will consider an Ordinance on first reading establishing no truck routes.
This will prohibit large commercial motor vehicles from traveling on 14th Street from Stephen F. Austin to Coggin Avenue AND on 15th Street from Coggin Avenue to US Highway 377. The Council to consider the Ordinance on First Reading.
Also, before Brownwood City Council Tuesday morning, first reading of an Ordinance changing Center Avenue to one-way heading southbound – from Austin Avenue to Whaley Street – AND – changing Whaley Street to one-way heading westbound to Clark Street. This in an attempt to help traffic flow more efficiently for the new Welcome Center at Howard Payne University.
