Today, June 14, is Flag Day.
The United States flag was adopted on June 14, 1777, by the Second Continental Congress.
“Resolved, that the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”
President Woodrow Wilson formally established Flag Day in 1916.
Coincidentally, the United States Army was also formed on June 14, in 1775.
So, if you have a United States flag, fly it today!
