Calls ranging from theft of lottery tickets to harassment and burglary were included in the calls to the Brown County Sheriff’s Department between Thursday, June 9 and Sunday, June 12.
- On Thursday, June 9 Lt. Pete Bastardo responded to CR 304 in Zephyr. This was in regard to theft of diamond earrings. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim who stated she was missing some earrings. Information was gathered for a report. Bastardo later contacted the victim, who advised she had found the earrings on the floor and no longer wished to pursue this matter.
- On Friday, June 10 at about 8:19 a.m., Deputy Byron Langley arrived at CR 467 in Brownwood. This was in regard to criminal mischief. Langley spoke to a victim, who stated his neighbor had broken the windshield wiper on his vehicle.
- On Friday, June 10 at approximately 9:08 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to the E-Z Mart Store at N. Hwy 279 in Brownwood. This was in reference to the theft of lottery tickets. The store manager advised an ex-employee, had stolen numerous amounts of lottery tickets, while working at the store.
- On Friday, June 10 at about 1:30 p.m. Deputy Byron Langley arrived at Central Texas Veterinary Hospital, located at N. US 183 in Brownwood. This was in regard to an animal bite. Langley spoke to a witness, who stated an employee was bitten by a dog owned by a named suspect.
- On Friday, June 10 at 3:58 p.m. Sgt Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to a call in regard to theft, which could be handled by public service. Contact was made with the complainant, who advised she has purchased a dog from and individual on Facebook, who lives in another state, and has not yet received the dog. Information was gathered and a report was taken.
- On Friday, June 10, Deputy Chris Angel, was dispatched to 4th Street, Brownwood. This was in reference to an assault. A victim stated she had been assaulted by a suspect at this residence, and at an unknown location in the county. The victim also stated the suspect took $180 cash from her person, without her consent. A report was taken, and an investigation is underway.
- On Saturday, June 11 at approximately 3:24 p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Trickham. This was in reference to a community relations report and investigation. The complainant advised a neighbor had written her a note, which she found disturbing and threatening. A report for harassment was completed and forwarded to the Bangs Police Department.
- On Sunday, June 12 at approximately 4:27 p.m. Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Ave. C in Brownwood. This was in reference to a burglary of a habitation report and investigation. The complainant reported someone had pushed in the window to a vacant apartment.
- On Sunday, June 12, Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a report of an Unwanted Person. Caller stated his ex-girlfriend was at his residence, and he wanted her trespassed. A report was made.
