Billie Wayne Crow, 85, of Brownwood, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022.
A visitation with family will be held Sunday evening, June 12, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Heartland Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 10:30 AM, Monday, June 13, 2022 with the Military interment at 2:00 PM in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W Lake Rd, Abilene, TX 79601 officiated by Rick Justice.
Billie Wayne was born July 3, 1936 in Rotan, Texas to Jesse Wyatt and Mamie Telula Crow. Billie was the youngest of his siblings and graduated from Rotan High School in 1956. Billie joined the US Army where he served for 6 years. Once he was released from the Army, Billie went back to Rotan where he worked for John Gray until he decided to reenlist in the US Air Force. Billie spent 16 years in the US Air Force and went to Vietnam in 1969. He was assigned to NSA while there until he was injured in an explosion in 1971. Billie was sent to the Philippines for surgery and recovery. He spent time all over the world while in the military; Germany, Guam, Japan, Canada, crossed the Pacific Ocean 14 times. Billie met Sue Warren in 2003 and they were married. They owned a big motor home and loved to travel the states from 2005 – 2011 covering most of the mid-west and western states. Shortly after moving to Brownwood, Billie became disabled. He was definitely an adventurer and looked forward to the next thing to experience.
Billie is survived by his wife, Billie Sue Crow of Brownwood; Stepchildren, Karla Burleson of Brownwood, Sheri Kligora of Brownwood, Ashley Rupert of Copperas Cove; two nephews he was close to, Garland & Gordon Crow from Amarillo; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many friends and neighbors.
Billie was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
