There are 320 entries for the 58th Annual Brown County Rodeo which begins tomorrow (Thurs) night at 7:30 pm (new start time).
The contestants come from all over Texas but entries from Oklahoma, South Carolina, Louisiana, Michigan, Florida, Alabama, California, Colorado and Arkansas will also make their way to Brownwood to try to win the prize money.
There are so many contestants that there will be large rounds of slack competition after the main rodeo performances on Thursday night and Friday night featuring timed event participants.
All the main rodeo events will be featured during each nightly rodeo including Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc Riding, Breakaway Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Team Roping, Barrel Racing and Bull Riding.
Gates to the Earl Q. Wilson Arena open at 6:30 pm nightly Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Kid’s Mutton Bustin’ starts at 7:00 pm followed by the nightly rodeo at 7:30 pm.
Advance tickets are on sale here at KOXE and Citizens National Bank – cash only – for $8 for adults, $5 for children 13-18. Kids 12 and under admitted free.
If you buy adult tickets day of rodeo they are $10 each. Cooler passes are $20.
