During Tuesday morning’s meeting, the Brownwood City Council unanimously approved an amendment to the Chapter 380 agreement with Brownwood Hotel Partners, LP to extend the project commencement date by six months.

Brownwood Hotel Partners, LP is the development group building the Home2 Suites behind Studebaker’s on East Commerce.

The economic development/Chapter 380 agreement was executed on February 22, 2021. The agreement called for construction of the Hotel to commence within 12 months after the effective date. The start of the project has been delayed, but the developer is getting close to closing their loan and are looking to start construction in the next two months.
