Richard Burns, 78, of Cross Plains, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Medical City Arlington surrounded by his loved ones in Arlington, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29 at 2:00 PM at the Church of Christ in Cross Plains, Texas with James Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Burkett Cemetery in Burkett, Texas.
The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday, April 28 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Cross Plains, Texas.
Richard was born on March 8, 1944 in Coleman, Texas to the late Carl E. Burns and Pauline Shilling-Burns. Richard married Linda Sosebee on July 11, 1964 in Ropesville, Texas.
Richard was preceded by his parents, Carl E. Burns and Pauline Shilling-Burns; sister, LaFaye Pace; brother-in-law, Billy Pace.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda Burns of Cross Plains, Texas; daughters, Janeen Beth Burns-Jones of Gilmer, Texas; Tamora Leah Burns of Waxahachie, Texas; grandson, Casey Jones of Big Sandy, Texas; sisters, Carline Sanders of Round Rock, Texas; Lanette Burns of Burkett, Texas; Geraldine Young of Lubbock, Texas; brother, Tommy Gene Burns of Breckenridge, Texas.
