Funeral mass for Frank G. Vasquez, age 82, of Bangs, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 25, 2022, at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Brownwood. Burial will follow in the Bangs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Heartland Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 5:00 until 6:30. The rosary service will begin at 6:30.
Frank passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Frank was born on January 29, 1940, in Elgin, Texas to Manuel and Manuela Vasquez. He married the love of his life of almost 63 years, Elizabeth Valadez of Leming, Texas, on June 4, 1959 in Austin. They lived in Taylor County and in 1970 moved to Bangs. They were blessed with three children. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for 52 years.
He began his career in concrete construction in 1959 and in 1972 he became self employed as a concrete contractor.
Frank never met a stranger. He always had a smile, loved to laugh, and always had a story or a joke or two to tell.
Most of all he cherished his family and the time spent with them.
Frank is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Vasquez; his children, Daniel Vasquez of Brownwood; Pat (Patti) Daniel & husband Blane Daniel of Bangs, Angela Harrell & husband Tony of Bangs; grandchildren, Mary Villarreal & husband Lupe of Brownwood, Becky Contreras & husband Wesley of Moore Oklahoma, D.J. Rios & wife Chaylie of Bangs, Frankie Smith of Littleton Colorado, Sophia, Ethan, & Solomon Harrell of Bangs; great-grandchildren Aden & Avery Solis; Cristyn, Penelope, Lincoln & Maverick Villarreal; Eli, Eden, Ella, Everly & Ezekiel Contreras; sisters, Beatrice Olvera, Aurora Bumgarner, and Janie Vasquez all of Abilene; brothers, Paul and wife Chavela of Fennville, MI, Jesse of Ovalo, Andrew and wife Janie of Abilene, and Manuel Jr. of Brownwood.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
