After only one week of zero reported and zero active cases, COVID-19 cases returned in Brown County, according to the weekly report released Thursday by the local health department.
In the last seven days, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 10 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 10 positives this week, 8 were PCR, and 2 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported this week, 8 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases.
There is 1 person currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19.
No new deaths have been reported this week.
The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering COVID testing at their clinic located at 510 E. Lee Street. Testing is by appointment only. If you need to be tested for COVID, please do not walk into the clinic. Testing will be conducted at your vehicle in the parking lot. The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 5 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older. Vaccination boosters are also available.
