The Brownwood Lions got into the win column Wednesday night with a 9-3 victory against the Gatesville Hornets in a game broadcast on KOXE. Rescheduled due to severe weather Tuesday night in Gatesville, the Lions improved their district baseball record to 4-5, matching the 4-5 record of Lampasas for 3rd place in district. On the mound, Kyle Ivy went the distance and allowed three hits with four strikeouts, one walk and two hit batters on 104 pitches to get the win for Brownwood. The two teams meet again at 7 p.m. Thursday at Morris Southall Field with the Lions looking to secure a district sweep and move into second place in the 6-4A standings.
