On Tuesday April 5, 2022, Roy Allen Blackstock went to his Heavenly home at the age of 65.

Roy was born October 29, 1956 in Brownwood to Gene and Juanita Blackstock.  He attended Brownwood High School, graduating in 1975.

Upon graduation, Roy went to work for M&F Gauge for several years before becoming a faithful employee of Superior Essex where he worked for 38 years as a machinist in the maintenance department.

In his free time, Roy enjoyed racing and working on his race cars, including his 68 Camaro.  He also enjoyed working at Big Country Raceway on the weekends where he prepped the track and watched the races.  Roy also enjoyed fishing and cooking for family and friends, especially around the holidays.

Roy is survived by his sister, Kathy Rush and husband Les; uncle JA Blackstock and wife Nancy of Mullin; aunt Ruth Van Pelt of Louisiana; friend Mike Smith and wife Karen of Brownwood; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Juanita Blackstock; grandparents Omar and Vera Horner and Maude Blackstock.

A graveside funeral service for Roy will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 11, 2022, in the Zephyr Cemetery.
