In March, Brownwood High School students competed at the UIL District 6-4A Academic and Speech Competitions. The following students placed in the top six of their events:
- Spelling: Claire Clayton – 2nd place
- Copy Editing: Claire Clayton – 4th place
- Science: Aishwarya Nigalye – Top Biology; 4th place overall
- Mathematics: Aishwarya Nigalye – 5th place
- Accounting:
- Brianna Castaneda – 4th place
- Chloey Guthrie – 6th place
- Brownwood (Team) – 2nd place
- Feature Writing: Kali Alvizo – 2nd place
- Ready Writing: Rylie Schaffer – 2nd place
- Headline Writing: Brooke Minchey – 5th place
- Editorial Writing: Kali Alvizo – 6th place
- Informative Speaking: Brogan Hagood – 4th place
- Poetry Interpretation: Kate Yantis – 2nd place
- Prose Interpretation: Alexia Potter – 6th place
Students that finished in the top three will advance to the Regional Academic contest in Lubbock on April 22-23. The students were coached by the following high school teachers: Brooklyn Britton, Brittany Martin, Justin Moore, Joanna Young, Stacee Hetzel, Cherita Munguia, Shannon Lee, and Kenan Boland.
