Linda Beth Philen, age 79, of Brownwood passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Oakridge Manor Nursing Home.

She was born January 7, 1943, In Richland Springs, Texas, the daughter of Frank Austin Simpson and Opal (Baker) Simpson.  Following her graduation from high school, she married William Philan at Brady, Texas on September 25, 1971. She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1961.  She enjoyed fishing and bird watching, especially the hummingbirds as they fed themselves.  She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She is survived by her husband, William Philen of Brownwood, a son, Randy Philen of Brownwood, a sister, Frankie Shelton of Benbrook, two grandchildren, and a niece, Margie McDermon of Brownwood.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, two sons, Ronny Philen and Gregory Don Philen and a daughter, Penny.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 8, in the San Saba City Cemetery with Minister Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Davis-Morris Chapel.
