Thursday Morning Update on Area Fires

A wildfire broke out late Wednesday afternoon about 3 miles northwest of Coleman near County Road 464 and U.S. Highway 84.  Named the THICKET FIRE, it had burned 40 acres as of late Wednesday night and was 30% contained.  The Coleman Fire Department reported at 11:00 pm Wednesday night that the fire was contained though the interior would burn overnight.  All Texas Forest Service resources and local departments were released from the location.

In Brown County, some good news concerning the Ramsey Fire near Blanket which has reached 90% containment and is 3,456 acres in size.

In Eastland County, the seven fires making up the Eastland Complex Fire are now 100% contained.  That includes the Oak Mott Fire in Brown County that burned 4,031 acres.
