8:22 pm Wednesday UPDATE – The fire is estimated 30% contained.

Late Wednesday afternoon, several volunteer fire departments from Coleman County were on the scene of a grass fire roughly three miles north of Coleman, east of Highway 84, near County Road 464.  The fire was burning in thick brush.  No additional information was available.  (Photo of the fire as seen from CR 464 about one-half mile east of the flames.)

UPDATE ON THE RAMSEY FIRE

As of 6:30 pm Wednesday, the Texas Forest Service reports the Ramsey Fire in Brown County is now 90% contained and has burned 3,456 acres.
