Brown County in Red Flag Warning Today

The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 7 PM CDT this evening (Thursday, March 24.The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

 

 

* WINDS…Northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…Between 8 and 12 percent.

* FUELS… Critically Dry

* IMPACTS… Any fires that start are likely to spread rapidly and will be difficult to control. Burning is highly discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will occur shortly. A combination of strong winds, low humidity and dry fuels will contribute to extreme fire behavior.
