A new grass fire has broken out in southwest Eastland County. It is east of State Highway 206, North of Highway 36, near Highway 569. The fire is located not far south of the Eastland Complex Fire.
As of 1:45 pm Sunday, the Texas A&M Forest Service is responding to a request for assistance in Eastland County. The fire is being called Blowing Basin Fire.
As of 1:45 pm, it is an estimated 100 acres and 5% contained.
The weather station at Cisco Gregory Simmons Memorial Airport, at 1:20 pm, reported a South wind at 25, gusting to 39 mph. Humidity was 11%. The fire will spread toward the north.
