RESIDENTS OF MAY, TEXAS SHOULD EVACUATE due to the continued spread of a massive wildfire between May and Blanket.

“There is a good chance the fire will cross Highway 183 south of May,” said Darrell Johnston, Emergency Manager.

Evacuees should leave May either to the North on Williams Ranch Road 583 or North on 183 to Rising Star, then to State Highway 36.

This goes for those in an area bounded by:

FM 1467 on the South, CR 417 on the West all the way up to May, CR 495 on the north and the Brown Comanche County line on the east.

Be aware of the approaching fire which is spreading to the North, and avoid driving into areas where there is smoke.
