From KOXE Meteorologist Randy Turner: Sunday, March 20, 8:10 pm
“Fires Sunday, Storms Monday. We need to be weather aware on Monday as we get a dose of severe weather season. Light rain showers are expected to begin as soon as early Monday morning. By around noon Monday, thunderstorms should begin building roughly East of a line from Abilene to Brady, which includes the KOXE listening area. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area under a Slight Risk (level 2 on a severe scale of 5). Storms may become strong to severe as they move toward the east during the course of the afternoon. The storms may produce large hail and damaging wind. Frequent lightning is likely, exactly what we don’t need, due to possibly starting more fires. Remember to have multiple ways to receive weather warnings and have a plan to take shelter in the event of damaging winds or tornadoes.
