According to the Rising Star Fire Department Facebook page, Rising Star residents should evacuate. The Myrtle Wilks Center in Cisco has opened a shelter for anyone who needs it. The fire that is of concern to Rising Star is north of town and is west of Highway 183. The highway to Cisco is clear.
Cross Plains has opened a shelter at 700 N. Main. In the town of Comanche, the Community Center is open for shelter.
