According to the Brownwood Police Department – on Monday, March 7, 2022, at approximately 5:10pm, officers were notified of a possible stolen vehicle about to enter the City from Bangs. Officers Ferguson and Rodriguez observed the vehicle entering the city limits and initiated a traffic stop in the 1000 block of West Commerce.

Upon approach, the driver was identified as Christopher Lee Lowe, 38, of Bangs, Texas.  According to police, Lowe stated that he just purchased the vehicle by trading his old pickup for this one.  Lowe was unable, however, to remember what type of pickup he used for the trade, what type of pickup he was driving and who the person was who sold the vehicle.
A communications check confirmed that the pickup was stolen out of Bellmead, Texas approximately 12 days ago.  Lowe was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail without further incident.
