Runoffs in Brown County Elections

There will be a runoff election for Brown County Judge between Shane Britton and Paul Lilly. Shane Britton received 2,293 votes (37.73%) while incumbent Paul Lilly received 1,575 votes (25.92%). Terry Blevins 1,129 votes (18.58%) and Molly Kay Smith 1,080 votes (17.77%).

There will be a runoff for Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace between Ted Perez and H.Q. Thomas. Perez received 495 votes (35.90%) while Thomas received 389 votes (28.21%). Also on the ballot were Rusty Howell with 260 votes (18.85%) and Andre Smoot with 235 votes (17.04%)

There will be a runoff for Precinct 2 County Commissioner between incumbent Joel Kelton and Jeff Hoskinson. Incumbent Kelton received 493 votes (45.78%) followed by Hoskinson 317 votes (29.43%) and Bo E. Allen 267 votes (24.79%).

For Precinct 4 County Commissioner – Incumbent Larry Traweek was the outright winner with 886 votes (62.88%) while George Huseman received 523 votes (37.12%)

For Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 – Bryan Thompson was the winner with 1,301 votes (80.16%) followed by Brian Edwards with 322 votes (19.84%)

In order to win the primary and secure their desired position, a candidate must receive more than 50% of the votes. There will be a runoff election on May 24th between the top two candidates.
