A graveside funeral service for Shirley Dority, age 81, of Brownwood, will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Eastlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Heartland Funeral & Cremation Service of Early.

Mrs. Dority passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, in a Brownwood nursing facility.

Shirley Ann Townsend was born in November of 1940, in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, England, to Edmund and Doris Townsend.  She married Gene Weaver in England while he was serving in the Air Force.  Shirley moved to the United States in 1959.  She later married Herb Dority in December 1973.  Shirley worked as a hairdresser for 20 years and worked at Wal-Mart for 25 years before retiring.

Shirley is survived by her three children, Dale Weaver and wife Elecia of Early, Tony Weaver of Brownwood and Julie Ann Warren of Red Oak; six grandchildren, Jessica Hill, Michael Weaver, Jennifer Vaquera, Jonathan Weaver, Kyle Warren, and Cheryl Warren, seven great-grandchildren, and a sister, Audrey Gregory of England.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Gene Weaver and her second husband, Herb Dority.
