Jimmy Quinn, age 89, of Robert Lee, died Friday, January 21, 2022, at Robert Lee Care Center.

He was born James Henry Quinn on January 29, 1932, in Coleman to Roy H. Quinn and Oma D. Harris Quinn. Jimmy grew up in Coleman where he attended Coleman High School. He worked in the oil fields for a few years until working with his dad on a water well rig in Colorado.  He then returned to Coleman where he and his dad opened the Cue Club. Jimmy helped run the business for many years along with help from his sister, Billie Reed. He then became a police officer for the City of Coleman under police chief John Smith. After a few years of being a police officer, he became a painter and partner with Matt Anderson until retiring due to health reasons. Jimmy enjoyed playing pool, hunting, bowling and more than anything, fishing. He also enjoyed helping on the Miller Ranch due to his love of working cattle and ranch work.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Oma Quinn; his wife, Frankie Quinn; his brothers, Howard Quinn, J.T. Harmes, and Shorty Harmes; his sisters, Billie Reed, Florence Ray, and Emily Fulcher; and his daughter in law, Janie Quinn.

He is survived by two sons, Tommy Quinn and wife Sue of Blackwell and Roy “Eddie” Quinn of Abilene: and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
