Constance “Connie” Ray Thomas, age 79, went to walk with her Heavenly Father on January 24, 2022, at home surrounded by her precious family.

Celebration of Life for Connie will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Coggin Ave Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Gray officiating; visitation will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Connie was born July 12, 1942, in Fort Worth, to Edmond and Mildred (Parvin) Conley, the youngest of eight children.  She graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1961 and graduated from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, with a Bachelor of Science in 1964.  Connie met her beloved husband, Russell Thomas, while attending Hardin Simmons, and they married on August 8, 1964.  During their 57 years of marriage, they were blessed with three children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren— the lights of her life.

Connie’s greatest joy was watching her grandchildren thrive as they played sports, showed their animals, performed in dance recitals, and just watched them grow.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband, books, crocheting, sewing, sending handwritten notes, Coggin Avenue Baptist Church Sunday school class, sharing pictures of grandchildren, hosting family gatherings, and listening to Brownwood Lions football.

Connie’s unwavering faith in Jesus and her dedicated husband were her rock.  As she left this earth, it was the joy of knowing that she would now be walking and dancing with her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Thomas; her children: Travis Thomas of Brownwood, Tami Hull and husband Ted of Early, Trent Thomas and wife Chelsey of Austin; grandchildren: Jurnee Hinkle (husband Dustin), Tripp and Ketch Thomas, Hunter Hull, Hannah Hull (fiancé Daniel Shoppe), and Elliott, Quinncey and Garrison Thomas; great-grandchildren: Callen and Copeland Hinkle; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.
