Leoma W. Yates, age 99, of Scurry, Texas and formerly of Brady, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Forney, Texas.  Leoma was born October 6, 1922 in Richland Springs, Texas to Will Wilton and Edna A. (Oneal) Wilton.  She married Marcus Yates on June 30, 1941 in Winchell, Texas.  She worked as a surgical nurse at the Brady Hospital for 32 years.  She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Brady and a lifelong resident of Brady.

Funeral services for Leoma Yates will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Reverend Richard Maxwell officiating.  Interment will follow at the Placid Cemetery in Placid.

Wardle, Larry Yates, Colton Wardle and Mike Meyers.

Leoma Yates is survived by her sons Michael Yates and wife Rhonda of Scurry, Texas and Marcus Yates and wife Kay of Forney, Texas; grandchildren Tammy Wardle, James Yates, Krystal Wallace, Keithen Denley, James Michael Coulter and Benjamin Roberts; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Leoma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
