Lady Lions Down Lampasas in Lopsided Win

It’s not often that you’ll see a soccer score this dominating but the Brownwood Lady Lions rolled to an 11-0 triumph over the Lampasas Lady Badgers Tuesday night, improving to 4-0-1.

Kennedi Johnson led the charge with four goals, Watts Jones tacked on three, Molly Oliver chipped in a pair, and Priscilla Sanchez and Jacklyn Lewis also scored for Brownwood.

“Everyone was connecting,” Lady Lions second-year head coach Alexis Mosqueda said of the offense. “The midfield was connecting with the forwards, even when we dropped it back to the defense they were connecting. A lot of the younger girls got in and got some time and the energy never changed no matter who I put on the field. That just shows how much the girls have been working and I’m excited to see what else they can do.”

Next up the Lady Lions are at the Salado tournament Thursday through Saturday. Brownwood faces Fredericksburg at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Bay City at 5:45 p.m. Thursday and China Spring at 3 p.m. Friday. The tournament will conclude Saturday with seeding games.
