If you want to become a candidate for City Council or other local boards that are on the ballot on May 7, 2022, then you can file for office beginning today, Wednesday, January 19.  Some area towns may also be electing school board members May 7.

According to the Texas Secretary of State election information, Wednesday, January 19 is the first day to file for a place on the General Election Ballot on May 7, 2022.

The last day in which to file for a place on the General Election Ballot is Friday, February 18 at 5:00 pm.

The last day to file a Declaration of Write-in Candidacy is Tuesday, February 22.
