The Brownwood School Board of Trustees couldn’t have asked for a better audit report.  The 2020-2021 Audit Report was presented Monday night, January 10, by John Manning, CPA for Pattillo, Brown & Hill, L.L.P.  This audit marked the first time for the Certified Public Accounting firm from Waco, Texas to perform the BISD Audit. “Of the four types of audit opinions that we can offer, the unmodified is the highest level of assurance we can offer,” Manning said.  “All in all, for the first year, I think it went really well,” Manning added.  He went over several points of interest in the more than 70 page document.

“It was an unmodified opinion which is what we always look for,” said Dr. Joe Young, BISD Superintendent.  “We always look for somebody to come in to be sure that we’re doing things the right way and that we are spending the dollars like we say we’re spending them and that we are accounting for everything like we should.  Mr. Moore has done a great job since March of 2020 when he took over in the business office, correcting a few issues that we had and getting those things straightened out.  I think the audit has proven that over the last two years.  It’s just gotten better and better,” Young said.

The board accepted and approved the annual audit.
