COLORADO CITY – The Brownwood Lions defeated the Levelland Lobos for the second time this season, 77-65, Friday night in Colorado City.
Ike Hall paced the Lions with 17 points followed by Bryson Monroe with 15, Luke Moss with 11, Hayden Noe with 10, Thad Hinds with nine, Tristan Salinas with eight, Jakob Hataway with five, and Trent Loftin with two points. Brownwood is off Tuesday then tips off district action at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14 when Gatesville visits.
BROWNWOOD WARREN GYM – The Brownwood Lady Lions shot just 26 percent from the floor as the No. 12 Glen Rose Lady Tigers emerged with a 41-26 victory.
The Lady Lions (17-9, 0-1)converted just 9 of 40 shots including 2 of 14 three-pointers. Brownwood also committed 25 turnovers. The Lady Lions were led by 12 points from Tessa Goodwin, six each from Kynslee Walker and Mady Pyle, and leading scorer Jaylen Savage was limited to two points. Brownwood is back in action at Lampasas (22-6, 1-0) – an 88-23 winner over Gatesville (4-13, 0-1) Friday – at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
