Weekly Updates:
In the last seven days (ending Dec 30th), the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 149 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 149 positives this week, 62 were PCR, and 87 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported this week, 41 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases. There are 5 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19. One new death has been reported this week, a female in her 60’s.
The previous week (ending Dec 24th), the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 84 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 84 positives this week, 45 were PCR, and 39 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported last week, 10 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases.

As of December 21st, The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department has moved the COVID-19 Testing back to the Brownwood-Brown County Health Department located at 510 E. Lee Street. To make an appointment for a COVID-19 test call 325-430-7603.

The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 5 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older. Vaccinations are available by appointment at the Health Department. Please call 325-646-0554 to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
