David Allan Early, age 67 of Bangs, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 26th from 5-7 PM at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas.

Graveside services will be Monday, December 27, 2021 at 2 PM at the Bangs Cemetery Pavilion.  Anyone wishing to join David’s family in the celebration of his life is welcome.

David was born Sunday, June 13, 1954 in Brownwood, Texas to Don and Joy Early.  He attended most of his public schooling at Bangs ISD and graduated in 1973.  He married Donna Massey in 1977 and began a life together that blessed them with two children, Stephanie and Clinton.  Subsequently, he married Diana Hanley in 1992 and was married to her until her death.  When David was born, he lived with his folks in Bangs. Later, the family moved to a farm north of Brownwood, where David started school. In 1961, the family moved to a dairy farm south of Bangs, where David lived the rest of his life. David participated in 4-H and FFA, showing dairy cattle and other animals. While in school David played the bass drum in the Bangs Dragon Band with much zest.

During his growing up years, David enjoyed tending to the baby calves. He was always very good with animals. He captured a wild civet cat at one point and kept it in a cage for 2-3 months before it was able to escape. After graduation, he partnered with his dad to operate the dairy and farming operation for a while, then operated independently and did custom work for others. He was always working on something.  David enjoyed seeing his friends at the coffee shop. He also enjoyed arguing with and aggravating the folks he liked.

David is survived by his mother of Abilene, TX; his children, Clinton Early and wife Samantha of Bangs, TX and Stephanie Early of Las Vegas, NM; his stepson Carlos Baker and wife Heather of Brownwood, TX; his two brothers of Abilene, TX, Jerry Early and wife Carla, Robert Early and wife Pam; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his dad, both spouses, and his sister Janice.
