Martha W. (Rowell) Myers, 92, of Early

Martha W. (Rowell) Myers was born to Clarence and Edith (Woods) Rowell on August 20, 1929, at the family farm on the hill overlooking Lakeview Church near Richland Springs, the fourth of six children. Martha passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021, surrounded by her family at home in Early.

Graveside Services for Martha will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the Holt Cemetery, near Richland Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Martha was an artist, poet, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She married Orman “Johnie” Myers in July of 1946 in Richland Springs. They farmed until 1951 then moved and worked in Brady until 1953. During this time, they were blessed with four of their children, Erma, Mike, Kathy, and Johnie Owen. They moved to Midland in 1953, where they lived for the next 14 years and completed their family with Douglas and Robert. In 1967, they started following bridge and overpass construction jobs around the state of Texas until 1971. They lived in Childress, Granbury, Beaumont, Comanche, and ended up in Odessa. In 1971, the family moved to Brady where they lived there until 1981 when she and Johnie moved to Early.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Johnie; son, Michael Myers; daughter, Kathy Martin; and her parents, Clarence and Edith;

She is survived by her daughter, Erma Ellison and husband Jerry of Columbus, Ohio; 3 sons, Johnie Owen Myers and wife Cindy of Columbus, Ohio, Douglas Myers and wife Beth of Comanche, Robert Myers and wife Jeanne of Early; daughter-in-law, Joyce Myers of Coleman; son-in-law, Ronnie Martin of Comanche; 13 grandchildren: 31 great-grandchildren; and her brother, William Rowell of Joplin, Missouri.
