The Brownwood Lady Lions got a 65-24 win over San Angelo Lake View Monday at Warren Gym.

The Lady Lions (12-7) shot 46 percent (25 of 54) from the floor and 42 percent (9 of 21) from beyond the three-point arc, while sinking just 40 percent (6 of 15) of their free throws. Brownwood also committed a season-low eight turnovers, pulled down 35 rebounds and forced 24 turnovers with 14 coming on steals.

“Our performance Friday (57-26 loss at Abilene Wylie) offensively was very disappointing,” Hohertz said. “We just challenged them in the locker room before the game to come out and finish the right way before we go into Christmas break. They responded pretty well.”

Five Lady Lions finished in double figures led by Kynslee Walker with 16 points and six assists, Kassidy Wooten with 12 points, Kimber Green – called up from the JV with Mady Pyle out with a concussion – with 11 points, Jaylen Savage with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Tessa Goodwin with 10 points and eight boards. Lilly Brasher, Lexi Greer, and Brianna Castaneda added two points apiece.

The Lady Lions are off until they begin play in the three-day TexasBank Holiday Classic beginning Tuesday, Dec. 28.
