Margaret (Ramos) Hernandez, 87, of Brownwood

Margaret Hernandez, age 87, of Brownwood passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in Red Oak, Texas surrounded by family.

Funeral Services for Margaret will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Bhaskar Mendem officiating; burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. with rosary starting at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Margaret was born on February 14, 1934, to Daniel and Eulojia Ramos in Lott, Texas.

Margaret was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Margaret was a great cook, she was always trying out new recipes, and always cooking meals for other people. She was an excellent homemaker. She was a devout Catholic, always saying her rosary on Sundays and giving her offerings to the church.

She was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She loved to travel when she could and was always doing a hobbie. She was the type of person that liked to stay busy and help people when she could. She was always giving advice to whoever would listen to her, especially to the people that she loved and cared for, she always spoke her mind and didn’t hold anything back. Margaret led a life filled with love, faith, and family, whom will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her 5 children, Edward Martinez and wife Theresa of Red Oak, Ernest Martinez of Dallas, Debra Martinez of Dallas, Arthur Martinez of Brownwood, and Ruben Martinez of Brownwood; 6 grandchildren: Chriselda, Gilbert and Mario Martinez all of Dallas, Abel and Adam Perez of Brownwood, and Anna Bell of Brownwood; 6 great-grandchildren: Caden, Mariah and Celesta of Dallas, Amara and Adrian of San Angelo, Xizania of Brownwood; and 3 brothers, Robert Ramos and wife Beatrice of Brownwood, Armando Ramos and wife Mary of Abilene, and Tony Ramos of Ft. Worth. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Martinez; second husband, Alfonso Hernandez; daughter, Virginia Perez; grandson, Andrew Perez; 2 sisters, Alice Flores, and twin sister, Mary Sauseda; two brothers, Daniel Ramos Jr. and Steve Ramos; along with cousins, nephews and nieces.
