A man from Abilene and a man from Sonora were killed in a two vehicle crash in Taylor County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety preliminary crash report, the wreck happened on Interstate 20, near mile marker 272 on Saturday, November 20, at 4:34 am.

The driver of a 2018 Toyota Tundra was Samuel D. Caldwell, 78, of Sonora. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a 2018 Ford F-150 pickup was Darrell V. Mills, 50, of Abilene. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the DPS, the Toyota was traveling toward the East in the westbound lanes of IH-20 while the Ford was traveling West. The Toyota crashed head-on into the Ford, both coming to rest in the center median. The Ford caught fire and was completely burned.
