The Brownwood Lady Lions are off to a good start this basketball season, now 2-0 thanks to a 40-36 victory against Merkel Friday night at Warren Gym.  The game was tied at 28 when the 4th quarter began.

Brownwood shot 36 percent (13 of 36) from the floor, but 41 percent (5 of 12) from three-point land. The Lady Lions also knocked down 60 percent (9 of 15) of their free throws, collected 23 rebounds, and notched 13 steals.

The Lady Lions are back in action at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday hosting Lake Belton.
