COVID Report – Slight Increase in Cases, 2 in Hospital, 1 Death

In the last seven days, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 35 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 35 positives this week, 20 were PCR, and 15 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported this week, 4 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases.  There were 26 positive cases last week.

There are 2 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19.  One new death has been reported: a male in his 70s– not from a nursing facility.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Brown County:

  • People with at least one dose – 15,867 (228 additional)
  • People fully vaccinated –  14,322 (212 additional)
  • Percentage of people 5+ fully vaccinated – 39.66%

36,099 is the estimated number of Brown County residents eligible for vaccination. The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 5 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older.
