Ranger College has announced that Mr. Derrick Worrels is the next president of the school.
Mr. Worrels currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Student Services, where he leads a team that is focused on increasing access, improving support, advancing success, and creating equity for all.
Throughout his career in education, he has taken on several roles, including Men’s Basketball Coach, Athletic Director, Adjunct professor and Assistant Dean at Hillsborough Community College (HCC) in Tampa, Fl. While at HCC, Mr. Worrels started Project HYPE (Helping Young People Excel). Project HYPE was a program designed to mentor young minority males in middle and high school.
Mr. Worrels earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, a Master’s in Psychology from National Louis University, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education in Community College Leadership at Kansas State University.
