In what has become an annual tradition, the reigning Miss Texas pays a visit to Coleman High School. This year’s date is Thursday, October 28th.
Miss Texas, Mallory Fuller, is a recent graduate of Texas A&M University. She is currently working towards her Master’s degree at Baylor University in Communication Sciences and Disorders to become a Speech Language Pathologist. Mallory currently represents the city of Colleyville and serves as a Texas Cares for Children Ambassador.
Her Social Impact Initiative is “Mallory’s Mission: Suicide Prevention and Education” in which she seeks to prevent suicide through education programs and community outreach. In 2015, she testified on behalf of the Jason Flatt Act at the Texas Capitol. The Jason Flatt Act was passed in Texas, making it mandatory for teacher’s to be trained in suicide prevention every year.
In addition to suicide prevention, Mallory focuses on promoting mental health through her blog, The Happy Heart Project where she explores a variety of topics to address mental health concerns.
