Weekly COVID Report – Slight Increase in Cases, One Death

In the last seven days, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 53 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 53 positives this week, 29 were PCR, and 24 were antigen.

Of the total number of cases reported this week, 6 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and sever symptom breakthrough cases.  There are 6 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19.  One new death has been reported: A male in his 50s, not from a nursing facility.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Brown County:

  • People with at least one dose – 15,367 (98 additional)
  • People fully vaccinated –  13,853 (165 additional)
  • Percentage of people 12+ fully vaccinated – 42.11%

30,883 is the estimated number of Brown County residents eligible for vaccination.

The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 12 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older. Vaccinations are available by appointment at the Health Department.
