Dr. Glenn Rogers (R-Graford) announced he will seek re-election in 2022 to represent the newly reconfigured House District 60 in the Texas House of Representatives. Due to population growth around the state following last year’s census, District 60 has been altered and is now comprised of Palo Pinto, Parker, and Stephens counties.
“It is my great pleasure to represent the people of Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Eastland, Hood, Palo Pinto, Shackelford, and Stephens counties in the Legislature,” said Dr. Rogers. “I am also looking forward to representing the people of Parker County moving forward since it is a place where I have deep roots. Mandy and I lived in Aledo for nearly 20 years, so I feel a real kinship with the community. Of course, I am excited to continue serving my neighbors in Palo Pinto and Stephens counties as well.”
A steadfast Republican leader, Dr. Rogers worked to make the 87th Legislative Session one of the most conservative in Texas history. This session saw the passage of a balanced budget, along with victories on border security, right to life issues, the 2nd Amendment, and many more conservative priorities. Here are a few highlights of the 87th Legislative Sessions:
• Stopped the “defund the police” movement by requiring a public election before counties can
defund or reallocate police funding;
• Passed “constitutional carry” which allows for all persons 21 years or older to carry a firearm without a permit;
• Appropriated funds for 100 additional state troopers along the border with Mexico and $139.2 million
for law enforcement salary increases;
• Increased funding by 25% to the state’s Alternatives to Abortion program, and banned abortion after the detection of an unborn child’s heartbeat; and
• Strengthened the security of our elections and increased penalties for anyone involved in fraudulent
election activities.
During the 87th Legislative Session, Dr. Rogers served on the Transportation Committee and the Pensions, Investments, & Financial Services Committee. His work on these key committees led to the passage of legislation that funds critical transportation projects and invests in our retired teachers.
“This session was historic for conservatives,” concluded Dr. Rogers. “We passed constitutional carry, strong, pro-life legislation, invested $2.8 billion in border security funding to secure our border, and made it easier to vote and harder to cheat in our elections. These are real, tangible victories and I plan to stand for re-election on this record of success.”
Dr. Rogers is a veterinarian and owns and operates Holt River Ranch in Palo Pinto County. He resides in Graford with his wife, Mandy. They have three daughters, Meg, Ginny, and Leah; one son, Ben, and five grandchildren. Glenn and Mandy are longtime members of the Methodist Church.
