Petra Maria Huerta, age 73, of Brady, Texas passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas.  She was born August 11, 1948 in Brady, Texas to Mauricio Castillo and Tomasa (Mungia) Castillo.  She married Antonio Huerta Sr. on June 22, 1970 in San Angelo, Texas.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers and any activity that involved her grandkids and family.  She enjoyed working at the Brady Mercantile.  She was a lifelong resident of Brady and a member of the Gateway Church in Brady.

Funeral services for Petra Huerta will be held at 1:00pm, October 22, 2021 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Reverend Ruede Rule officiating.  Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.

Petra Huerta is survived by her daughter Cynthia Dorn and fiancé Robert Nuncio of Brady, TX; daughter-in-law Mindy Huerta of Kerrville, TX; brothers Mauricio Castillo and wife Elodia of Brady, TX and Jose Castillo of Brady, TX; sister Janie Samora of Brady, TX; grandchildren Angela Maldonado, Josiah Martinez, Selah Huerta and Rhesa Huerta and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tony Sr. and son Tony Jr.
