The Brown County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following calls for service on Wednesday, September 22 and Thursday, September 23.
Wednesday, September 22 – at about 10:12 hours, Deputy Byron Langley spoke with a male victim by phone. This was in regards to a theft. The man state he had paid a female suspect $1,000 by Venmo deposit to use a wedding venue for Saturday, September 25. The man stated he found out the suspect sold the venue and refuses to give back his money for the deposit.
On Wednesday, September 22 – at around 13:05 hours, Deputy Carlyle Gover responded to East Hall Street in Bangs in reference to a wallet found on the side of the road. After further investigation, the wallet was secured at the law enforcement center until contact with the owner is made.
On Wednesday, September 22 – Deputy Joe Thomas responded to a report of Identity Theft. The complainant advised she had lost her Valero gas card and now an unknown person was using the card. A report was made.
On Thursday, September 23 – Deputy Chris Angel responded to Belfast Drive in reference to an unwanted person. The deputy made contact with a woman who stated she did not want a man on her property, due to previous problems. The man was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning, per request of the victim, for this property.
