Brown County Commissioners on Monday approved, on a 4-0 vote, awarding unclaimed capitol credit funds to some non-profit agencies in Brown County.
The unclaimed capitol funds come from people who fail to collect their utility deposits. The money reverts to the state and counties can apply for the funds. The funds can only be used for certain things.
This year Brown County received $6,097.29 from the Comptroller.
Commissioners voted 4-0 to give $750 each to The ARK, Children’s Advocacy Center, the Brown County Certified Local Government (for training) and CASA.
They rest of the money, $3,097.29, will go to the Brown County Museum of History.
