grass-fire-2

The Early Fire Department was dispatched at 11:33 pm Saturday night to a grass fire at 112 North Line Drive.  While units were responding, dispatch advised firefighters that a shed was on fire about six feet from the house.  Chief Hill arrived at the scene to find heavy fire in the backyard and a 15×15 ft. shed on fire.  The shed was a total loss.  The fire extended to the back of a house.  Brownwood Fire Department was requested for mutual aid.  The Early Fire Department continued to put out the flames on the house and shed.  When Brownwood Fire arrived, they checked for fire extending into the attic of the home, which it had.  The house was saved but sustained significant damage on the backside of the structure.  Red Cross was contacted to assist the two occupants.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  Assisting Early and Brownwood Fire departments at the scene were the Early Police Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and LifeGuard EMS.
