Brownwood Council to Consider Seeking Bids for Phase 1 of Event Center Project

The Brownwood City Council will hold a regular called meeting Tuesday, September 14, at 9:00 am at City Hall, 501 Center Avenue, to act on the following agenda.

Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

A. The Girl Scouts will have a presentation regarding a project they did at Festival
Park.
B. Authorize the City Manager to sign an easement for ONCOR to relocate overhead electrical lines at the Landfill.
C. Consider allocating funds from property sold to TxDOT to a special purpose fund to be used towards the Event Center project.

D. Council may authorize seeking bids for Phase I of the Event Center project.
E. Discuss and consider authorizing the use of American Rescue Plan Funds to assist in continued COVID-19 response focused on COVID-19 testing in a partnership with Hendrick Brownwood.

10. Ordinances and Resolutions
A. Consider an ordinance on first reading setting charges for fees, rentals, licenses, and permits for the City of Brownwood for FY 21 /22.
B. Consider an ordinance on first reading setting charges, fees, rates, and deposits for customers on the Brownwood water, sewer, and sanitation system for FY 21/22.
C. Consider an ordinance on second and third/final reading adopting the FY 21 /22 budget.
D. Consider an ordinance on second and third/final reading adopting the 2021 property tax rate for FY 21 /22 at .7317 cents per $100 valuation.
E. Consider a resolution declaring the houses located at 611 Sharp Street and 108 N. Greenleaf as surplus and authorize the donation of the 611 Sharp Street house to Greenleaf Cemetery. Authorize the sale of the 108 N. Greenleaf house with proceeds to be placed in the Event Center Special Purpose Fund.

A. Consider awarding a bid for the Airport Agriculture Lease.

A. Consider a Mayoral appointments to the Brownwood Housing Authority Board and
a re-appointment to the Brownwood Appraisal District Board.
