Dennis Parker, 83, of Novice, died Monday, August 30, 2021 at Coleman County Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 at Novice United Methodist Church with Dr. David Medley officiating.
A private inurnment will be in the Garden City Cemetery in Garden City. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
He was born Dennis Truman Parker on May 11, 1938 in Big Spring to Dennis Weldon Parker and Effie Dell Williams Parker. Dennis grew up in Garden City, where he graduated from high school. He served in the United States Air Force. On March 26, 1970, Dennis married Betty Berry in Odessa.
Dennis worked for Tandy Corporation in California and also worked for Kobe Industries. Dennis enjoyed coin collecting and stamp collecting. He enjoyed it so much, he opened up his own collecting business in Odessa. He was also a member of the Lions Club in Odessa.
After Betty died in 2006, Dennis moved to Novice. There, he enjoyed the outdoors. He helped his brother-in-law, Bill, clear fence line and did what outdoor work his health would allow him to do. During the winter, he and Bill would sit inside and put many jigsaw puzzles together.
Preceded Dennis in death are his parents, his wife Betty Parker and a brother, Charles Parker.
Survivors include one sister, Sue Shields and husband, Bill, of Novice; two brothers, Doug Parker and wife, Donna, of Houston and Jerry Parker and wife, Debra, of Burnet. Also surviving are nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
