Sheriff’s Report – Man Says He Was Robbed Roadside

The Brown County Sheriff’s Department report issued on Friday, September 3rd, had calls for an assault, illegal use of name and robbery.

On September 2, at approximately 15:30, Deputy Mike Sheedy responded to the 4000 Block of Highway 279 where a complainant reported he was robbed while on the side of the road. The complainant reported when he pulled over to the side of the road, several unknown subjects jumped him, hit him, cut his arm with a knife and stole money from his wallet. A report was generated and will be forwarded to the investigation division for follow up.

On Thursday, September 2, Deputy Jim Cornelius responded to a call on Springlake West in reference to a woman who said she was physically assaulted by her fiance’ during a domestic argument. The woman received visible physical injuries to her eye, side of her face and shin. She stated she was choked during the assault.

On September 2, Deputy Andre Smoot responded to County Road 615, Early, Texas and spoke with a complainant about an unknown person filing for unemployment under his name. Information was gathered and a report was completed.
